Mary & Andy
Poly University Pre-Wedding photography
02.10.2017
I was given the opportunity to be able to write another chapter into a couple’s romantic story in the hot summer’s sunshine in Hong Kong. Mary and Andy were excited and well prepared on how they would like their pre-wedding to be presented and included into another piece of memory that would be looked back with great remembrance and prosperity.
The adventurous day all began at noon in Shing Mun Reservoir. Without changing room facilities in the mountainous region, Mary and Andy were required to be dressed up whilst hiking up and down the mountain paths within the humid and blazing conditions which lead to me to acknowledge their endeavouring efforts. Having shot two different points at Shing Mun Reservoir, Mary and Andy showed their chemistry, being able to bond with each other and pose well for me to take the perfect photographs. As we got towards the end, I sense there was a side of relief from Mary and Andy. Particularly Andy as he had felt the full force of the blazing temperature under his suit, and couldn’t wait to rip out of it to enjoy the cooling breeze once again. I would feel the same under those stuffy conditions.
Gradually moving over to the second location; The Hong Kong Polytechnic University had brought the pair back to memory lane, as this was where their love story had all began. Being able to show their inner youth, Mary and Andy had thoroughly enjoyed their time back at PolyU. Andy was particularly ecstatic and thrilled in being able to wear the vans he had brought during their trip in Japan, which was especially brought for this special occasion. The pair had really enjoyed themselves and were more relax within familiar surroundings and comfier casual wear whilst I was shooting. Mary had showed me and my team how much he loved Andy, not mind kissing Andy’s forehead which was covered in sweat. A sign of a woman in love and willing to strike the correct pose for the perfect shot, very much appreciated.
As the clock was ticking on we were running against time, the sunset had awaited us at our final destination: Big Wave Bay Beach. Even though we were only able to partially capture the departure of the sunset, Mary and Andy showed me their creative minds to bring along sparkles for me to capture such an impressive and beautiful night shot under the full moon. It was certainly challenging enough for me, as I needed to photograph the right moment before the sparkles would flash out. Nonetheless I was pleased with the overall outcome.
The designated locations chosen by Mary and Andy brought a lot of fun and laughter on the day, however I believe there is still more excitement to come with their big day approaching very soon.
