Maryknoll Convent Pre Wedding with an Artistic Twist

Having the opportunity to photograph your childhood friends is a great bonus of being a Hong Kong photographer.

Our lead photographer Koda shared a room with Tim when they both attended boarding school in the U.K. Tim also designed the amazing first logo we used when we started up in Hong Kong as Koda Weddings. He pursued his creativity to become a fantastic architect and is now happily married to Helen (we grow up so fast!).

Maryknoll Convent School pre wedding photography was a chance for us to visit the place where Helen spent many years as a child. It was great to see her interacting with all the places that hold so much significance to her and show Tim the places she used to hang out.

Maryknoll Convent School is a Roman Catholic girls school with primary and secondary sections at Kowloon Tsai, Hong Kong. The school is famed for its outstanding academic results and school traditions which Helen was more than happy to tell us about.

Our shoot at Maryknoll took place is Spring which is always a great time for outdoor pre wedding photography. The day was warm but slightly overcast which is a perfect combination for our style of photos.

In addition to the romantic Maryknoll Convent School pre wedding shots  we also took some fun photos with the bridal party. This was a bit of a twist on the traditional pre wedding shoot and meant we got to have a bit of a laugh with Helens friends.

Maryknoll Convent School really is a beautiful place for a pre wedding shoot as the building has a lot of Western influence and charm. The brick work makes great backdrops for photos and we are really happy with how they turned out.

In addition to the Maryknoll pre wedding shots we also got creative at our studio as Helen and Tim created some art work together. This type of idea always leads to amazingly natural and romantic images as our couples engage with each other and forget they are being photographed.

We ended their shoot after dark at Kwun Tong Promenade where we experimented with some off camera flash to produce some dramatic shots.

As a team we are really happy for Tim and Helen to be starting their new life together as husband and wife. It was an honour to be chosen to photograph their pre wedding images and we can’t thank them enough. Scroll through the images below to see what we got up to at their pre wedding shoot.
