Not only will it provide you with shots of all your guests having a great time but it is also something that will keep them occupied and provide hours of fun.

Photo booths are easy to set up and blend seamlessly in to your wedding.

On this page we will delve into wedding photo both hire costs as well as looking at some fun photo booth ideas.

What is a Photobooth?

If you have been to a wedding in the past 5 years then you are probably more than familiar with what a photo booth at a wedding is and the entertainment it can provide.

Remember when you used to get your passport photo at the supermarket? or a romantic thing to do with a new partner? Well a wedding photo booth is much like that only a bit sillier!

You enter the booth in anywhere from groups of 2 to 6 and have your photo taken with a variety of silly costumes, hat and props. The results are usually instant as you get two print outs of the photos taken. One of these is for you to keep as a memento of the day whilst the other is typically stuck in to an album nearby where you can leave messages to the Bride and Groom next to your photo.

Should I have a photo booth at my wedding?

If you want to add a sense of fun to your wedding occasion the the wedding photography add on of a photo booth can be a great idea.

We have shot countless weddings over the years and photo booths have become more and more popular recently. So much so that they have almost become expected at weddings nowadays and provide a bit of light entertainment and enjoyment to your evening guests.

As well as keeping everyone occupied you also get a fantastic memento of your day. When we provide a photo booth you will typically receive around 300 additional images to your wedding photography package.

The majority if not all of your guest will use the photo booth so this is also a sure fire way to guarantee a photo of everyone at your wedding. Yes they might be wearing a silly hat and a fake moustache but that is just another aspect of fun that the photo booth can provide.

Our photo booth add on starts at around HKD $ 5000 and varies in price depending on how many hours you require it for and how many photos you wish to be printed.

Professional Wedding Photography Albums

Quite simply a wedding photography album is designed to hold a selection of your most treasured images from your special day in printed format.

However, a personalised wedding album is so much more than that. Rather than having your images stored on a usb or hard-drive somewhere lost in the cloud they are printed in a gorgeous book for you to show off at any time to friends and family.

There is something truly special about the printed image.

Do you remember looking through old albums with parents? The photos from years gone by are truly special and a tangible item is way more precious than a jpeg stored away on some hard-drive.

If you don’t do anything with the photos we provide other than store them away on a computer, never to be looked at again, then that is a real shame.

If you leave them on your hard-drive they will gradually disappear especially if your computer were to corrupt. On a computer they are still there in the background of your device but you’ll never tend to look at them in this way.

We recommend that all our couples have a wedding photography album.

Albums have come a long way in recent years and we offer a wide selection to suit everyone.

Unlike a traditional wedding photography album we predominately print your photographs on to the page. These premium quality album with beautifully rendered prints are a real pleasure to hold and have a wow factor unmatched by any other medium.

We are so used to seeing image on computers nowadays through Facebook, Instagram etc. When you print photos it stops viewers in their tracks as they are desensitised to this way of viewing their photos. They pause for a minute instead of scrolling on. They look and contemplate and even admire.

Should I have a wedding album?

We realise that advising you to get a wedding album could be seen as an obvious money making tactic. But realistically we make very little profit from wedding albums. They cost quite a lot get printed as we use some of the best suppliers in the business. Equally they are also quite time consuming to design and finalise decisions.

That being said we really enjoy being able to tell a story with your images in the way that we saw your day unfold.

Additionally we firmly believe that this is the best way to view your wedding photos. It’s like you wouldn’t buy a Porsche 911 to drive it off road. In the same way photographs are made to be printed. They always have been and hopefully they always will. There is just something magical about holding a tangible print in your hands or flicking through a real book that can’t be matched by digital.

What size albums are available?

We offer a wide range of albums to suit the wants and needs of every couple. Our most popular sizes are 12×12 and 8×8.

With wedding albums size does really matter, the bigger you can print your images the better in our opinion.

What we generally see from our couples is that they will opt for a 12×12 sized album for themselves. In addition to this they will have two smaller 8×8 albums for both sets of parents.

The space within a 12×12 album means that we can get the balance right between white space and the photos printed on the page. The white space in our opinion is really important in allowing the photos space to breathe from a design perspective.

You don’t want all your images crammed together on the page overlapping each other trust us.

How many photos do we get in our album?

That’s the trickiest question we get asked when we are approached about designing an album.

Finding the right balance is key to the success of a well crafted wedding album and the most difficult thing to get right. Typically we find that couples over choose on the amount of images for their wedding album.

Whilst we obviously take this a huge compliment that they are in love with their photos and couldn’t keep their choice low it does make it tricky.

A well designed album in our opinion will consists of approximately 50 of the best images from throughout the wedding day. It will tell a story from start to finish and will be designed in a way that emphasises what a great day you had.

Some couples choose 150+ photos and whilst we can still make and album with this many images it does present problems. We are limited to a design that has 80 pages. If you choose 150 images that means that the average page will have approx 2 images. Obviously we can juggle the images around a little make 1 page spreads here and there but that could then result in a page with 4 images on etc.

If however you choose 50 images (with a buffer of around 15) it means we can get a lot more creative with the design of your album. We can do 2 page spreads of just one image for example that looks stunning.

Overall this decision is going to be in your hands and you have final say. We will always offer the best advice we can and show you examples of really successful wedding albums that we have created for our couples.

Photo and video packages

One of our most popular wedding photography add-ons is wedding video. Whilst photography is obviously timeless and captures once in a life time moments there is nothing like watching back your wedding day as it actually happened.

This is why we have created a photo and video package that is ideal for couples who appreciate both of these mediums.

What is included?

The wedding photography and video package is a combination of the two but offered at a slightly reduced rate if you book them both together.

This package offers great value for money and covers all aspects of photography and video that you could ever want.

The package includes the following:

Photography
-12 hours of wedding day photography
-2 photographers throughout the day (1 snap photographer and 1 standard photographer)
-1 dedicated lighting assistant throughout the day
-You will have a 1 hour shoot on location
-Slideshow of a selection of your images set to music
-You will receive your photos in a blog roll story telling style
-Approximately 800 edited photos will be delivered via a download link

Video
-12 hours of wedding day video
-2 videographers throughout the day
-1 video assistant
-A same day edited video set to music (more on this further below)
-A long version video

Wedding photography same day edit

Same day edits for photography provide you with a selection of roughly 100 photos edit on the day of the wedding. This is a great option if you simply can’t wait to view your wedding photographs and are intrigued to see what we have captured from your day.

Additionally we provide you with a slideshow of images set to music. We find that couples will play this to their evening guests and throughout the reception in order to show everyone parts of the day that they might have missed.

Adding a same day edit to your package couldn’t be easier. Just let us know in advance of your wedding if you would like this service so that we can liaise with the venue regarding projectors etc to display your images.

Prices for same day edits start at around HKD $5000 but you should enquire about adding this to your package so we can discuss your plans in more detail.

Optional extras

We offer a few optional extras that can be added on to any of our wedding photography packages and even in addition to and add on such as an album or photo booth.

Koda as the photographer

To have Koda as the lead snap photographer starts at approximately HKD $7000. Koda is our most experienced photographer and holds the most awards for his wedding photography.

We understand that this option isn’t financially viable for everyone which is why we use such highly trained photographers at Koda Weddings.

All the photographers at our studio have shot countless weddings and been trained by Koda himself. If Koda isn’t happy with their level of confidence or proficiency then they won’t be shooting your wedding.

Additionally all snap photos no matter who shoots your wedding are edited to the same high standards we pride ourselves on by Koda himself.

Additional hours of coverage

As a standard we provide 12 hours of coverage and occasionally this simply isn’t long enough.

Weddings run over all the time and you might want us there from the very start of the day right up until the last guest leaves at night.

This is no problem at all as we offer additional hours of coverage starting at HKD $800 per hour per photographer.
